Area 12 Rotary Clubs & Rotary District 5950

Rotary has been providing "Service Above Self" for over 100 years - serving the needs of the community and assisting in humanitarian efforts world wide. Each year the Area 12 Rotary Clubs (Mound-Westonka, Plymouth, Wayzata, Orono, Lake Minnetonka Excelsior and Excelsior Noon) provide hands-on or financial support for Warm Hands Warm Hearts, student scholarships, Camp Enterprise leadership training, Eagle Scout projects, school supplies, local food shelves and much more. Area clubs also support Rotary Interact club, which provide students leadership and community service opportunities. Other significant projects done by area club this year include: Mound Harbor District interactive musical instruments, sculpture and landcape improvements, SafeWater Plus Honduras project, Shelter Box disaster relief supplies for victims in Nepal and much, much more.

 

Rotary District 5950 is a group of 60 Rotary Clubs located in Central and Southwestern Minnesota. These clubs represent 41 Minnesota communities ranging in size from Minneapolis to Springfield. Our District is one of 529 Districts in 166 countries throughout the world and totaling 1,200,000 Rotarians in more than 31,000 local Rotary Clubs.

Women In Networking (WIN) & Teresa Thomas

Women in Networking (WIN) is a Twin Cities based organization in which women in business encourage one another’s professional growth and business success. Their members are a mix of female entrepreneurs, business owners and key players in business to business services. The WIN experience is designed to be motivating and rewarding for women who value and actively practice the principles and process of networking and lifting up other women in business. 

 

Teresa Thomas shares her passion for creating energizing connections through networking events, facilitated workshops, speaking and writing. In 2007, Teresa took on the leadership of MN Women In Networking (WIN). While Teresa has been a professional connector for over 18 years, she is shy at heart. She enjoys sharing the out-of-the-box insights she has learned throughout her life to help others to effectively network with confidence. Many of these tips are included in her recently released networking guidebook, "How to Tap into the Power of Win/Win Connections."

 

Teresa believes networking is really about seeing the interconnectedness between all of us. It is about listening and noticing the ways we can lift each other up.
